The poster sessions at the 2025 WAESOL conference are intended to provide an opportunity to share information such as classroom practices, research, cultural information, or other information teachers might find relevant. One advantage of poster sessions is that presenters get informal, one-on-one time with conference participants. Poster sessions also allow presenters to delve into specialized areas within a certain topic area.
General information
- All presenters must register for the conference.
- WAESOL does not reimburse presenters for expenses.
- WAESOL does NOT provide pens, markers, paper, whiteboards, and misc. supplies for presenters. Please bring your own tape or clips, etc.
- There is a presenter check-in table on the day of the conference. Be sure to visit it to pick up your name badge and confirm your presence at the conference. Presenter certificates are available upon request.
About posters
- All poster sessions will be from 10:00 to 10:30 in the Cafeteria of the Campus Center. You must be at your poster during the full 30 minutes of the session to interact with attendees interested in your topic. (See campus map HERE.)
- Presenters need to set up posters between 7am and 9am, before the Keynote starts. We ask that you leave your poster up through lunch for people to view.
- Posters must be removed by 4:45pm.
- The space for your poster will be one side of a movable white-board, with space of approximately 36″ wide x 24″ tall. You can either attach a large poster or several smaller items within this space. If your one-piece poster is larger than 36 inches wide, it will need to go beyond the edges of the whiteboard.
- Be sure to bring large clips or tape to secure your poster to the board.
- There is an art to creating successful poster presentations, and many informative sites on the web share creative ideas for poster design. Consider these links below as you prepare your poster.
